Electronic Document Interchange (EDI) system is the STP software application package, based on the ISO 15022 standard, provided by the NDC to give you access to EDI system, the NDC communications infrastructure. It allows for time-efficient and cost-effective access to NDC services.
The Windows architecture makes EDI system easy to learn and use with on-line help documentation installed automatically with the application.
EDI system supports databases on securities issues, counterparties and correspondents.
The NDC EDI system makes it possible to generate, electronically sign, encode and send via e-mail channels any depository instructions. Any instruction delivered to NDC is followed up by the automatic report on the processing results. Participants also receive free of charge statements of holding and transactions reports.
The messages going through EDI system are secured by the cryptographic means: Electronic Digital Signatures (EDS), authentication procedure, encoding with the use of all encryption keys from their list, and decoding operations.
EDI interfaces contain an authenticating security module designed to regulate the transmission of data. Such authentication presupposes the exchange of authenticator keys between NDC and each Participant intending to communicate via EDI. Control routines defined by EDI are designed to intercept and report instruction messages when authentication results are incorrect.
Since incoming EDI instructions have already passed through the EDI authenticating security module, NDC does not require them to contain additional authentication information and any EDI instruction received by NDC will be considered authentic.
Every day, irrespective of whether the exchange of electronic documents between NDC and its customer takes place or not, the system forwards to the customer the list of all e-documents sent and received by NDC on the previous day. Thus, the counterparty can control the entire cycle of processing its depository instruction.
The implementation of the full-scale STP e-document interchange system has provided a firm basis for expanding the range of our services and building new forms of communication with our Participants and other counterparties.
